Has ANYONE married someone who is not a jw and been/is happy????

Once married an elders daughter and lived many years in "hell".
Now married to a Catholic!!!! for 15 years. I have never loved and felt so loved.
I was thinking about this recently. In the " truth" , I tried to be a good, caring, loving husband.
But, hey thats normal. As Paul said " miserable man that I am. I have only done what I ought to have done."
So in the "truth", no one EVER thought to love me back. I realize now that I never felt loved in all the years ( nearly 30 ) that I was in. Everything I did was just EXPECTED of me.
Today I am loved and appreciated, by my wife and all of her family. I have never been so happy.
No marriage is ever garanteed. But JWs do NOT have a monopoly on happy family life.

redvip2000 It's at times like those that i realize that at this point in her life, it's probably better for her to stay in her paradise bliss dream, instead of knowing the truth. Yes I agree.

Cold Steel I remember some group saying the ten horns pictured the European Union etc. That seemed to make some sense back then as they had just named the tenth member. Today they are at 29!

So thats what my mum told me today. I've learned to hold my tongue but I was thinking,
"Why can't it?" What a desperate point of view. Their really desperate for the big A to come. How sad.
And to top it all, she has the news channel on permenantly "just to keep me company!" she said.
I did tell her there, that if shes going to force feed herself bad news then shes obviously going to think the world is awful.
And whats this latest propaganda with the " Armageddon" magazine which she spoke to me about?
Has anybody looked it over?

Elders want to pay a visit

i had a phone call recently.

two elders want to come round.. now i ve been out for approx.

Every year, about the time of the memorial, the BOE discusses inactive/ disfellowshipped one in their territory and decide who might "benefit" from a visit, and who is going to do it. Its standard OP.
Normally, I would say dont bother meeting with them. However, it sounds like, psychologically, it will do you some good. Beware not to be dragged in though.

We crossed a friendly man who gave us a big smile and bade us good morning.
Poor soul, I thought . Doesn't realize we're all going to die soon.

Invited to a Party

this is the first 'wordly' event i'll be attending since getting disfellowshipped.

Are trustees also elders?

i am new to this board.

i have never really been in touch with jw until just recently and have a question:.

uk congregations: are the trustees at the same time elders and can a trustee or elder be inactive?.

Though many years ago, I was a trustee whilst " only" being a MS ( accounts servant).
When I was DFd I was obviously deleted as being a trustee, though I was never notified of that action being taken.
Maybe your friend was a trustee, but is no longer, without his having been informed.
